This course, taught in English, is a second-level writing and communication GEC course.  Students work on improving their academic writing by learning to incorporate evidence for their arguments and by revising their essays. Informal in-class writing helps students to differentiate between a variety of writing styles and find the one that is most appropriate for a given situation. Although taught in English and with a focus on writing, this course also introduces students to a selection of German texts and films (in translation). By engaging with the German-American experience, students have the opportunity to learn both about their own culture as well as about the culture that produced these materials.
